Trace and Write the Alphabet: Workbooks

Thank you for your interest in this series of workbooks on tracing and writing the English alphabet.

These workbooks are part of a much larger sequence of basic skills books that I am developing in English language arts and in mathematics. The core objective of each book is to practice a fundamental set of English language or mathematics skills.

Practice, Practice, Practice!!! - I have spent a lifetime now (65+ years) learning and teaching. As a student, as an elementary school teacher, as a community college instructor, as an author of several courses, and as a corporate project manager for complex technology courses and curricula, I have see the importance of practice. 

Without a doubt our students of any age need to learn concepts and to develop sophisticated cognitive skills.

However, our students also need to master the fundamental skills in any intellectual domain. Without that mastery of the fundamentals, we will struggle mightily with the more advanced conceptual and cognitive skills. 

And...to master the fundamental skills requires Practice, Practice, Practice .

The following is a list of the workbooks in this series. From this page you can download a pdf version of each workbook for your personal, educational, non-commercial use. This page also includes a link to the print version of each workbook, available on the well-established print-on-demand site lulu.com. 

Practice, Practice, Practice: Trace and Write the English Lanaguage Alphabet : This spiral-bound book is a compilation of 5 workbooks on tracing and writing the English alphabet, both lower case and upper case. This book is approximately 144 pages long.

For your convenience the 5 sub-books in the preceding collection are also available to download or to purchase separately. Each of the workbooks is approximately 30 pages long.

Practice, Practice, Practice: Book 1: Trace the Lower Case Alphabet [Large Format] : Trace the lower case letters in a large format. In this section, the students use large motor skills to trace each letter 3 times on a page.

Practice, Practice, Practice: Book 2: Trace the Lower Case Alphabet [Mid-size Format]:  Trace the lower case alphabet in a medium-sized format, with the tall letters about 2 inches high.

Practice, Practice, Practice: Book 3: Trace and Write the Lower Case Alphabet [Small Format] : Trace and write the lower case alphabet in a smaller size, with the tall letters about 1.5 inches high. By this point, the students use fine motor skills in their tasks.

Practice, Practice, Practice: Book 4: Trace the Upper Case Alphabet [Large Format] : Trace the upper case letters in a large format.

Practice, Practice, Practice: Book 5: Trace and Write the Upper Case Alphabet [Small Format] : Trace and write the lower case alphabet in the smaller size format.
